F.A. Waldron Chestnut Rye Whiskey

FA Waldron Chestnut Rye whiskey is a unique variation of traditional Empire Rye whiskey that incorporates toasted and charred chestnut wood barrels into the aging process, imparting distinct flavors and characteristics to the final product.

Like traditional Empire Rye whiskey, FA Waldron Chestnut Rye Whiskey primarily consists of rye grain and is finished with corn.  The production process for FA Waldon Chestnut Rye whiskey typically follows the same general steps as traditional rye whiskey. Rye and corn grains are mashed, fermented, distilled, and aged in new American white oak barrels.  After several years of aging, the whiskey is removed from the oak barrel and added to a stainless-steel barrel lined with toasted and charred chestnut staves.  The whiskey rests in the chestnut barrel for several months until our master distiller decides it's ready to bottle.  The aging process mellows the flavors and imparts additional nuances to the spirit.
